RAISINS AND THEIR BENEFITS

Dried grape known as raisins were grown centuries ago. Raisins were produced in Iran as early as 2000 BC.

Raisins Benefits:

  1. Raisins are nutritious dried fruits and like other dried fruits are found throughout the year. It is an energetic, low-fat, and low-sodium food. Thus, it is very beneficial for those who are prescribed low-sodium diets.
  2. Raisins have antioxidant property and prevent cell destruction.
  3. Raisins play an important role in maintaining bones health and preventing osteoporosis, that’s why its consumption is very useful for premenopausal women.
  4. They are a good source of vitamin D and estrogen.
  5. Although raisins are sweet and sticky, they have no harmful effect on teeth and do not cause tooth decay. It can even be said that this dried fruit prevents tooth decay. Raisins are very beneficial for tooth and gum health.

  7. Raisins contain a good amount of iron. 600g of raisins provide 90% daily need of body to iron. 100g of raisins contains about 1.88mg of iron, while 100g of beef contains 2-4mg of iron.
  8. Raisins are a good source of fiber, antioxidant as well as energy.
  9. Fiber intake prevents colon cancer, helps prevent abnormal cell growth, diseases, also controls blood glucose. 
  10. Raisins prevent cancers.
  11. Raisins reduces LDL (bad cholesterol) level and decreases CVD risk.
